General Ebenezer Learned Chapter NSDAR 
and Clara Barton School Children Perform Community Service for Veterans 


On Tuesday, November 22, 2016, Cathleen Nickosey, Veterans Committee member of the General Ebenezer Learned NSDAR Chapter, coordinated a veterans and vommunity service project with Jacquelyn Gonyea's third grade class of the Clara Barton School, Oxford, Massachusetts. The children made packets of toiletry items for homeless veterans. The packets were accepted by Helen Poirier, regent of the General Ebenezer Learned Chapter and distributed to the veterans in the local community.

The third grade class also listened to Commander Michael Masley from the Oxford High School Naval JRTOC program. Commander Masley spoke about his career in the military and why he chose the Oxford High School's ROTC program. The commander was accompanied by seven cadets who spoke to the students about the Naval JROTC. program and what it meant to them.

Announces the 
DAR Good Citizen Contest Winners


The General Ebenezer Learned NSDAR Chapter of Oxford is happy to announce that the chapter representative to the DAR Good Citizens State Contest will be Adam Sochacki of Bartlett High School in Webster. The DAR Good Citizens program contest is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. The program is open to all senior class students enrolled in accredited public or private secondary school that are in good standing with their state boards of education.  

Other school finalists were: Rachel Nowak, Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School in Charlton; Meghan Bowen, David Prouty High School in Spencer; Angelina DiDomenica, Millbury High School; Kaitlyn Zindle, Oxford High School; Sally Cederberg, Shepherd Hill Regional High School; Jacob Glass,Tantasqua Regional High School; Robert Greenlaw, Quaboag Regional Middle/High School; and Rachel Orsi, North Brookfield High School. Congratulations to Adam and all the school finalists from the high schools sponsored by the General Ebenezer Learned Chapter.
